The potential for interactivity now available to the world of design is captivating. Thanks to software like Flash, moving graphics and scripting have joined the designer's toolbox.
While working for the CITE office at Northwest Missouri State University, I had the privilege of developing a couple of interactive pieces for instructors on campus, designed to supplement their curriculum.

Artists tend to be thought of as right-brained and programmers get the other half. I think of myself, though, as a full-brained designer. Being able to think analytically and solve programming problems gives me greater access to the myriad possibilities of scripting, but also enables me to work better with programmers when in a team environment.
This test project was designed to manage a list of contacts in a datastructure, store the list in a datafile, and interact with the information through a GUI.
